ISLAMABAD - Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has not approved the names of three additional judges of Lahore High Court for confirmation.
The commission’s meeting was held in the chair of Chief Justice Nasir ul Mulk to consider the confirmation of 14 additional LHC judges as well as two judges of Peshawar High Court.
The sources told The Nation that the JCP has dropped three LHC judges namely Justice Shah Khawar, Justice Sikandar Zulqarnain Saleem and Justice Shahzad Mazhar, while one judge namely Justice Shoaib Saeed is retiring on March 17.
They however informed that the commission has proposed the conformation of four additional judges namely Justice Atir Mahmood, Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, Justice Miss Aalia Neelum and Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh. These additional judges are working since April 12, 2013.
The sources also told that the JCP has also given one year extension to six additional LHC judges namely, Justice James Joseph, Justice Zafarullah Khan Khakwani, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Shahid Jameel Khan and Justice Faisal Zaman Khan.
They also informed that the commission has recommended the confirmation of two Peshawar High Court’s additional judges namely Justice Syed Afsar Shah and Justice Muhammad Daud Khan.
