New traffic force in Rawalpindi has failed to resolve issue of the traffic jams as closure of link roads is creating multiple miseries for the motorists whereas the issue is still there. Traffic wardens on various roads are seen helpless as they are unable to unravel the traffic muddle and motorists have to cover extra distance to reach their destinations. For example, the 6th Avenue, Rehman abad and double road near Shams abad have been closed to avoid traffic jams. This step might have given some relief to the traffic wardens but it has put extra burden on drivers who have to cover extra miles. If a person is coming from Siddique Chowk to 6th Avenue, he cannot cross over to C block and other adjoining areas as road linking the 6th Avenue to Murree Road is closed and one has to take a U turn and cover extra mileage to reach other side of the road from Shamsabad. Similarly those who are coming from commercial market cannot cross over to other side as the road is closed and one has to take a U turn from 6th Avenue.
