Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that he made no phone call for release of US diplomat, involved in a dramatic shooting and hit and run accident, which claimed lives of three men in Lahore on Thursday. He expressed these views while speaking on point of orders and giving a policy statement here on Friday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik brushed aside all allegations that he made a phone call for release of US diplomat. He said that the American diplomat is in Punjab polices custody. The American diplomat said in his initial statement that the two boys were pursuing him and he shot them in self-defense. Rehman Malik further said that the issue is of provincial government and we are not interfering in provincial affairs. He said that the investigation agencies are taking review of the purpose of the arrival of the American diplomat in Pakistan and are carrying weapon with them. He said that after report the House would be informed about the details in this connection. He said that all foreigners no matter from what country he belong to would have to follow rules and regulations of Pakistan. He said that the government is not making any amendments in blasphemy law while President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had made announcement in this regard and Sherry Rehman has withdrawn the bill. He said that still after Prime Minister and Presidents announcements, if anyone has reservations then the reservations would be removed because we believe in 'Khatam-e-Nabowat.
