SNGPL has clarified that MPNR has not issued any notification in respect of replacement of its incumbent Managing Director and any information in this respect is purely baseless and an attempt to derail the management resolve to eliminate gas theft from the grass root level. It is also highlighted that there are no difference between the high-ups of petroleum ministry and SNGPL, which are working in complete harmony in the national interest. There has been no pressure from the MPNR in respect of obliging certain consumer groups in any manner.
The subject news item contains misleading and baseless information which is most likely being spread by nefarious corrupt elements in the SNGPL, which have been successfully weeded out by the company’s management, being led by its Managing Director M. Arif Hameed. It is also evident that certain vested interest elements whose interest have been undermined owing to the Company’s aggressive gas theft campaign, has also joined the ranks and are part of this baseless propaganda. It may be noted that the Management anti-gas theft campaign has successfully brought down the UfG from 12.6pc as of 2011 to around 10pc, resulting in saving over Rs 4 billion, despite deteriorating law and order situation and considerable increase in sale to retail consumers.
