Lazy Judges to blame for injustice

I don’t know if I should laugh or be worried when I read the report about a Judge blaming the Government for delay in clearing backlog of legal cases. The judge claimed that if the Government did not create issues there wouldn’t be many legal claims or complaints. He further proposed that more alternative Justice mechanisms should be made to help the citizens get justice. It is disheartening to think that these same Judges are considered to be the caretakers of Justice in our country. They are given extraordinary power, facilities and freedom to perform their duty. Therefore it is expected of them to be the leading thinkers and knowledgeable people of the society. Judges have the power to create laws and translate the constitution into laws, but even with all this power they are mostly interested in their own comforts such as acquiring a second government car, their air conditions, homes and other facilities.
In many instances, it is the judges themselves, who do injustice by providing unnecessary and illogical court stay orders on flimsy reasons. The stay orders taken by the judges have helped stop businesses and government proceedings, construction projects, inheritance transfers and countless other activities for decades. Do the Judges in Pakistan not understand the effects of indefinite stay or prolonged stay order on the progress of projects and activities? I honestly believe that if Judge truly want to resolve an issues and give Justice than they can do it easily.
