A girl starts planning her wedding day as soon as she steps into adulthood. The one day she can be a total princess and get away with it. But there is a line, a vague one, that you should never cross. Here are some of the things a Pakistani bride should not do:

1.       Don’t indulge in the race to size zero

Just to remain on the safe side, don’t binge eat, when under stress.

But on the contrary, don’t go on a diet that will make you look like a skeleton at your wedding. I know all you want is to look perfect, but who said that shedding all your body mass would do that? Just relax, instead of skipping meals, eat fresh vegetables and fruits, drink a lot of water and I’m sure you will look pretty amazing. Let me tell you one more think, dieting will make you cranky and everyone will call you ‘bridezilla’.

2.       Don’t cancel plans with your squad
Your friends at the end of the day are going to be there when the world decides to fall apart. So never ignore your friends. They will continue to be your support system.

3.       Don’t forget In-Law Etiquette
Your mother in law is basically the secret bride of your wedding. I know that’s hard to accept but the sooner you accept it the easier would it get. If you will displease her, expect an overwhelmingly emotional reaction.

4.       Don’t put too much make-up on
Try to enhance your features but don’t paint your face and look unrecognizable.

5.       Don’t wear something ‘out of the world’
I get it that you want to look different and stand out. But don’t go overboard with the dress. It is just one day and your dress should just make you look like a bride, not a theatrical showpiece.

6.       Don’t fake cry
If you don’t want to cry, don’t cry. I know it is a tradition and all, but fake crying is worse than not crying at all. Just smile, if you feel like smiling. Your smile will make your family members smile *wipes tears* and the waterworks wills start.

7.       Don’t be a diva among all the Singletons

Listen. I know you are now getting married and love the new life. But don’t forget that once you were a single woman. Respect their struggle.

8.       Don’t Be Negative

This is the most important lesson to learn from this post. Don’t think negative or you will get the worst hairfall and your skin will look flaky and unattractive. Just know that this is your day and pour all the positive energy out there by thinking positive and expecting the best from this day. And if anything bothers you just give it a smile like you don’t care and nothing bothers you anymore, because ‘hey I am the bride.’
