Rawalpindi - Chief Executive Officer Health Rawalpindi has launched an inquiry against the staffers of Basic Health Unit Hayyal Sharif for carrying out dilation and curettage of a poor woman by an ill-trained lady health worker after taking money, sources informed The Nation on Saturday.
District Deputy Officer Health Dr Mubashir Hussain has been appointed as inquiry officer. Sources said that that CEO Health Dr Suhail, while taking notice of a news item appeared in The Nation, has begun inquiry into the case of carrying out D&C of a pregnant woman by an ill-trained LHV at BHU Hayyal.
DDOH Dr Mubashir Hussain has been appointed as inquiry officer who had visited the BHU and recorded the statements of all the paramedics, incharge Dr Yusra Amir, LHV Ms Nayyer, who was involved in conducting the D&C process on a pregnant lady in return of money despite having no authorization for doing so, sources said.
The DDOH asked the victim lady to appear before him on Monday in his office and tender a written complaint against the BHU In-charge and the LHV so that an appropriate departmental action could be launched against the staffers of BHU for committing the crime. Sources claimed the DDOH Dr Mubashir also inquired the matter of medicines theft involving the staffers of BHU, including Dr Yusra and LHV Nayyer.
Talking to The Nation, Dr Mubashir confirmed that he had begun inquiry into the scam and had recorded statements of the staffers and the victim couple.
He said that he would solve the matter on merit and would also take stern action against the LHV involved in the inhuman act.
