KARACHI - As many as 40 officials and personnel of excise department have been transferred, creating panic among the transferred officials, TheNation learnt on Wednesday. Sources privy to the matter told that the transferred officials had been serving in the department for the last many years and had allegedly also been involved in corruption. The sources further said that officials and personnel who were transferred were now trying to stop their transfers and also have contacted with their seniors in this regard. They further said that Excise and Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chwala issued their transfer orders over complaint against them and more officials and personnel would be transferred from Motor Registration Wing in the next phase.
