Arrangements okayed to ensure supply, availability

Our Staff Reporter MULTAN - The district administration has made arrangements for providing atta (flour) at subsidized rates at all Ramadan bazaars as 4,850 bags of atta will be supplied to the bazaars on a daily basis. The price of 20 kg atta bag, which is being sold at Rs520 in the market, will be available at Rs440 in the bazaars while the 10 kg bag will be supplied at Rs220. Similarly, the flour mills will also supply subsidized atta to 314 selected grocery stores across the district to facilitate the public. The subsidized atta scheme is part of district governments Ramadan Package to offer edibles and other daily use items at cheaper rates to the masses at Ramazan Bazaars. These Bazaars are being set up at Chungi No-1, Shamasabad, Madni Chowk, Main Bazaar Mumtazabad, Qadirpur Rawan, Rail Bazaar Shujabad and Western Bazaar Jalalpur Pirwala. Meanwhile, addressing a meeting held to review arrangements for the launching of Ramadan Package, the DCO Multan Zahid Akhtar Zaman directed food officials to ensure supply of atta at the bazaars till 8:00am. He warned the owner of flour mills that no compromise would be made on the quality of flour and in case of any complaint strict action would be taken against the mill. COMPLETION OF BYPASSES: The Southern and Northern bypasses will be opened for traffic on July 31, disclosed Commissioner Multan. Chairing a meeting held to review the development projects of Multan here on Wednesday, the Commissioner directed the contractors to speed up their work, remove debris and clear roads. The Commissioner took serious notice of slow work on a railway overhead bridge on Southern bypass and issued order for its completion till July 31.
