Bandits reign supreme in Sialkot

SIALKOT - The dacoits continued their looting spree across Sialkot district, depriving poor citizens of their hard earned money and other valuables. As per detail, a gang of 10 armed dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables, worth millions of rupees from the passengers of several cars and vans during a Daaku Naaka near village Ranjhai-Daska on under construction main Daska-Gujranwala Road here late night the other day. Reportedly, the dacoits set up a picket and started looting motorists and those travelling at public transport including a Bajwat-Sialkot based family of Tariq, Kamran, Aamir and Tahira Bibi. The accused halted their car and looted gold ornaments, cash and four cell phones worth hundred of thousand from them. The dacoits also looted Rs20,000 and two cell phones from two motorcyclists - Shehzad and Adnan, besides, looting gold ornaments and thousands of rupees from a trader Muhammad Younas and his family by halting their car (LED-659) there. The culprits also snatched Rs250,000 from another trader Bilal Ahmed, a resident of Sambrial who was travelling on his car (LES-9175), besides, looting hundreds of thousands of rupees and several cell phones from several other persons including Babar, Shamshad, Tanveer and Shehzad. Later, the accused fled away after looting for several hours there. The Daska Saddar Police have been investigating the complaints. In the meantime, six armed dacoits snatched Rs125,000 and three cell phones from Sialkot-based cargo company owner Malik Arshad, his brother Talib and son Asghar near Badiana-Pasrur on main Sialkot-Pasrur Road late last night. The accused also brutal tortured the cargo company agent Malik Arshad on offering resistance. The accused fled away. The Badiana Police have launched investigation into the incident. In another major dacoity incident, in Sialkot city posh Islamabad locality, four burglars stormed into the house of a local trader Ather Mir, took hostage the family members including women and children and made off with Rs2.5 million, 27 tola gold ornaments and dowry articles of his daughter. The Naikapura Police are investigating with no clue and arrest, in this regard. Meanwhile, burglars broke into the house a medicines company representative Zahid Asghar and decamped with gold ornaments, snatched, electronics and other valuables worth of Rs0.6 million in Muhallah Borhiwala-Naikapura, Sialkot city, here late last night. Similarly, armed dacoits snatched a motorcycle, thousands of rupees and cell phones from a trader Wazaahat Ameen near Kotli Bawa Faqeer Chand-Pasrur here the other day. In another incident, armed dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth of Rs0.7 million from the house of a trader Raza Chaudhry in Muhammad Town-Sialkot city here last night. The Hajipura Police are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, three dacoits snatched a motorcycle GAL-2686 from a shopkeeper Shahid Mehmood and his wife near village Sehjoki on main Daska-Sambrial Road here. In another incident, thieves took away a motorcycle of Citizen Ghulam Murtaza from Lorry Adda Daska city. While 10 buffaloes worth of Rs1.2 million were taken away of bandits from the Dera of Ilyas in village Glotiyaan-Daska.
