RAHIM YAR KHAN - The District Development Committee (DDC) has approved various development projects worth millions of rupees. The approval was made at a meeting jointly presided over by MPA Chaudhry Shafiq and DCO Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi at DCO Office here the other day. The committee, under MPAs/MNA package, approved Rs105 million for public health schemes, Rs37.5 million for clean water projects, Rs37.5 million for roads construction projects, Rs57.5 million for provision of missing facilities in primary and middle schools and Rs37.5 million for up-gradation of high schools to model high schools in the district. The meeting also approved an amount of Rs100 million for the construction of a girls college at Khan Bela and Rs96 million for various projects under the Provincial Development Programme (PDP). The committee also gave go-ahead to some projects under the Southern Punjab Development Programme (SPDP). Speaking on the occasion, MPA Ch Shafiq advised the officials concerned to perform their duties honestly and diligently. He said Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif was taking 'keen in development of southern Punjab. He said Rs586 million had been allocated for district Rahim Yar Khan under the SPDP. DCO Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi directed the relevant quarters to ensure quality work in the uplift projects. He also warned against delay in the completion of projects. EDO Finance and Planning Babar Aman Babar briefed the participants that as per orders of the Punjab government all the development projects would require to get validation from a third party.
