LAHORE A 27-year-old engineer was found hanged under mysterious circumstances in his residential apartment situated here in Gujjarpura area on Wednesday, police sources said. It was not clear whether Abdul Khalid committed suicide or someone hanged his body with the ceiling fan after killing him. The police however, have removed his body to the morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Resident of Gujranwala, Abdul Khalid was residing alone in the rented apartment situated in PHA Housing Society near University of Engineering and Technology (UET). Abdul Razzaq, uncle of the deceased, told the police that they rushed to his apartment to know his whereabouts as his cellular phone was switched off for the last two days. 'As we broke open the door, we saw him hanging from the ceiling fan, his uncle told the police. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy after sealing the crime spot. Police investigators believe that unidentified men killed Abdul Khalid, who was working as hardware engineer in a leady private firm here and later hanged his dead body with the ceiling fan with the help of a rope to mislead the police. 'Crime scene and evidences collected so far, did not suggest that he committed suicide. We are investigating the case, a police officer said, when contacted. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was found dead from Ichra police area on Wednesday. The police said that the man, yet to be identified so far, apparently was drug addict. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
