OKARA - Pakistan Peoples Party legislator Amina Butter has reiterated her governments resolve to continue with the war against terrorism till its logical end. The people who call it the war of others must know the fact that more than 35,000 innocents and 5,000 army men lost their lives in the battle against extremism, she said at a function of laying foundation stone of Saeeda Lodhi Park in Samadpura here. MPA Sajida Mir, former minister Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, MNA Chaudhry Sajjadul Hussain, PPP leader Altaf Qureshi and others spoke on the occasion. Amina said the mission of Benazir Bhutto will be accomplished at all costs. Since the PPP rendered sacrifices for the sake of public betterment, it will not refuse to budge for the cause, she added. She claimed that the Ziaul Haq-planted dictatorship was nourished by Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf. But, she said that the party uproot this tree. The people, who are dreaming of bifurcation, are against the country and will face defeat, she said. She announced a grant of Rs3 million for the park. The MPA Sajida Mir said the PPP believed in peoples force and the party would bag victory in the next elections with thumping majority. Sajida announced a grant of Rs2.5 million for development projects. DEALERS BOOKED: District Officer Agriculture (Extension) Chaudhry Mohammad Farooq has ordered the Deputy District Officer to take more than 60 samples of zinc Sulphate from shops of different fertilizer dealers and sent them to laboratories for analysis. After the reports the sample of fertilizers were found spurious. On the report of the Agri Extension officers the police registered separate cases. LANDLORD SHOT INJURED: Unknown persons fired at a landlord who was watering his crops and was left wounded. Reportedly, a resident of Village Sohba Raam Okara, Allah Ditta, son of Sharif was watering his field crops. Meanwhile, some unidentified persons opened fire. Resultantly, Allah Ditta sustained critical wounds and was taken to hospital. The police have started investigation.
