LAHORE The District and Sessions Judge, after hearing on Wednesday that the Kot Lakhpat Jail authorities were not giving relief to an inmate given under the Presidential and other pardons, sought a report from them. The order was issued on a petition filed by one Riffat Khanum, the mother of Muhammd Kashif who is serving life-term. She had pleaded that the Kot-Lakhpat Jail authorities were not adding the pardons in the jail record of her son. He was sent to jail on January 3, 2001in a murder case. Reply sought: The District and Sessions Judge on Wednesday ordered the submission of a report from a jail superintendent on an application filed by the wife of a prisoner. One Amjads wife Balqees Bibi earlier informed the court that the jailer had refused treatment to her husband. The resident of Chungi Amar Sidhu, Bibi filed many other appeals seeking treatment of her husband, who went to jail with a bullet injury to his right shoulder. The Human Rights Cell director of the Apex Court had also been informed in this regard. The DS&SJ also ordered the jail authorities to reply why Medical Officer Dr. Numan was not providing treatment to Amjad. darul amaan: Additional District and Sessions Judge Marukh Aziz sent one Abida to Darul Amaan after recovering her from her in-lawss detention.
