ISLAMABAD - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain strongly condemned the criticism on the role of Pakistan Army in the Abbottabad Commission. He said the investigation should be conducted on principle grounds and the report of findings should be presented directly to the Parliament and the Cabinet. He said there should not be political interference in the working of Armed Forces. After the formation of commission, the situation has become grim as any person, even a UC member of a party, has started hurling blatant statements against the Army, which is detrimental to the national integrity and security, he added. The PML-Q president insisted that in the larger interest of national security, there should not be any hesitation in closing the commission and that it should not be made a point of ego. He termed making the commission findings public during the probe was highly irresponsible. This not only damages the respect and dignity of Army and media but also affects the judiciary as the commission is headed by an SC judge, he said, adding, Thats why, I raised the issue at very early stage, stressing that it is unnecessary to constitute the commission and now it seems that there is more loss than gain. He underscored the need for mounting up efforts to cope with challenges confronting the country. He said that the entire nation should stand by the two pivotal national institutions, the Army and the ISI, as internal and external enemies were constantly conspiring against the country.
