LAHORE Parts of the country, including the City, received rainfall of light-to-moderate intensity on Wednesday, with experts predicting the wet spell to continue with intervals during the next couple of days. The rains, patches of clouds and windy conditions caused decrease in the mercury level. However, high humidity followed the rain turning the weather muggy. This added to the woes of people. Frequent outages multiplied the miseries of heat stricken people. In Lahore, the rains at noon caused considerable decrease in the mercury level, providing some respite to the Lahorites. After stoppage of rain, the weather turned muggy that caused the Lahorites to sweat in the afternoon and in the evening. The rains added to the woes of motorists and pedestrians alike. The rainwater inundated roads in several localities. Frequent traffic jams were witnessed on a number of important arteries.
