According to latest press reports, Pakistan Peoples Party has decided that Party Chairperson Bilawal Zardari Bhutto (read Bilawal Bhutto Zardari) will contest from Lyari in the next general election for National Assembly. I have lived in Lyari for more than a decade during Zia-ul-Haq's rule. I had couple of friends who were staunch supporters of PPP. They often used to tell me that if Pakistan Peoples Party nominated an electric pole as its candidate in the election, people of Lyari will cast their vote in favour of electric pole. So if Bilawal wins from Lyari seat, it will not be a big win for PPP. Why from Lyari, Bilawal? Why not from Liaqatabad, Qasba Colony or Kati Pahari? M. RAFIQUE ZAKARIA, Karachi, July 27.
