Meanwhile, condemning the twin suicide blasts in Parachinar, the Shia community leaders have demanded a merciless military operation on the pattern of Swat assault against terrorists and expose the hidden hands behind this gruesome act.
Speaking at a joint news conference here at press club on Saturday, Imamia Ulema Council (IUC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Allama Khurshid Anwar and Acting Secretary General Majlas-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) Allama Syed Aamir Haider Shamshi said that government and the law enforcement agencies were badly failed to protect lives and properties of masses by taking stern action against anti-state elements.
Allama Khurshid said that terrorists will never be succeeded in their nefarious designs and would face defeat by rendering more sacrifice, adding the newly elected government took a stance to hold talks with Taliban after which a surge was witnessed in terrorists' activities.
He said the consistent terror acts in parts of the country particularly attacks on Shia community proved that government was become helpless. He said that terrorists were continuously challenging writ of the government. "They (terrorists) want to target innocent people but the government and the law enforcement agencies are failed to stop them," he added.
He further said that silence of rulers and security agencies over increasing acts of terrorism was encouraging terrorists, which were scot-free to carry out their nefarious activities. He also criticised media role for not giving proper coverage to the yesterday brutal episode in Parachinar while focusing on other unnecessary issues. "Now it must stop further pushing the community with wall and should not tolerate more killing of innocent Shia Muslim," Allama Khurshid warned. He asked the government to take effective steps for elimination of terrorism and launch a clean-up operation on pattern of Swat against terrorists across the country. He demanded the authorities to start air-service for shifting of injured people to major teaching hospitals in Peshawar, to carry out their proper treatment there.
The Shia Ulema informed that a three-day mourning was already declared against the terrorist incident in Parachinar, in which about 57 people were killed so far, while more than 150 others left injured. We will not deter from such weaken attempts of terrorists, and would render more sacrifices, they vowed.
They said the Jumatul Wida (last Friday of the Holy month of Ramazan) will celebrate as "Al Yaum-e-Al-Quds" with religious zeal and fervour and demanded the government to protect Shia community's processions, religious places and other activities. They also condemned the attacks on shrines of Hazrat Bibi Zainab and Hazrat Khalid Bin Waleed in Syria.
