Govt not to let down masses: Minister

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that the PML-N leadership was going all out to come up to the nation’s expectations.
He was talking to newsmen at his residence in Attock. He said that electricity loadshedding has been controlled to a certain level by adopting different strategies while different power generation projects are also being launched.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will never disappoint the masses, and the government had lausnched special drive to unearth gas and electricity thefts across the country and those involved in it will be brought to justice. He said that the government has inherited numerous problems from the previous regime and certainly it will take time to resolve them. However, he said, the PML-N was committed to putting the country on the path to development.
SIXTEEN HELD: The police have arrested 16 alleged anti social elements involved in drugs pedaling and possessing illegal arms and ammunition and recovered 2.350 kg charas, four pistols, one revolver, five bottle liquor and 25 litre liquor.
District Police Officer Attock Abdul Kadir Qamar taking action against police officers has relegated Sub Inspector Muhammad Idrees to ASI and forfeited six months service of sub inspectors Sher Muhammad, Muhammad Aslam and Mazhar. The DPO has transferred Inspector Hafiz Muhammad Rafiq as SHO Basal while Inspector Muhammad Khan has been transferred as SHO Model Police Station. Similarly, Sub Inspector Mazhar Hussain has been appointed SHO Police Station Hassanabdal while Inspector Aurangzeb has been ordered to report to police lines. He said that hardworking and honest police officers and subordinate staff will be rewarded while negligent ones will be penalised.
IMPRISONMENT: Civil Judge Muhammad Ashraf Gondal has awarded 24 years imprisonment and imposed Rs 260000 as fine to Muhammad Bashir, Muhammad Sajid and Asif Mehmood for abducting Sardarul Islam of village Burj.
