ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar has asked Ambassador designate to Netherlands Ms Iffat Imran Gardezi for making efforts to further enhance Pakistan’s economic relations with Netherlands.

Talking to Ms Iffat, who called on him here on Wednesday, Dar referred to the investment undertaken by Friesland Campina in food sector in Pakistan.

He pointed out that there was keen interest among Dutch companies to invest in Pakistan and they should be facilitated in every possible manner.

The ambassador designate assured Dar that she would make every effort for building Pak-Netherlands relations. She said there was a great scope for strengthening cooperation in spheres like horticulture, dairy farming, energy and water management. Iffat pointed out there was 40,000 strong Pakistani community in Netherlands and it would be her endeavour to engage it in improving Pak-Netherlands ties.

She said she would also encourage Pakistanis to take up investment and business ventures in Pakistan along with the Netherlands companies.

Dar assured Iffat his full support in her efforts to fortify Pak-Netherlands trade ties. Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance were also present in the meeting.
