LAHORE (PR): Hundreds of Wapda/electricity held a protest in favour of their major demands, including ensuring safe working conditions to workers, on Wednesday. The procession was organized by All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA).

They marched from Nisbat, Mcleod and Abbbot Roads and held a large rally at Luxmi Chowk. They urged the government and Wapda management to raise pay scales of the electricity and Wapda workers. They also demanded Wapda management to pay one month pay as bonus to Wapda/Pepco employees. On the occasion, they prayed for the souls of great journalist Majid Nazami, martyrs of armed forces and innocent citizens, who were killed by terrorists, as well as electricity workers becoming victims of work-related accidents.
