JHELUM -: The Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab has taken notice of the news about the killing of a UK woman of Pakistani origin in a village near Mangla in District Jhelum.

As soon as news about the killing of 28-year-old Samia Shahid was reported by the media, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed OPC Punjab Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti to ascertain facts surrounding the incident.

On the directives of the OPC Punjab, Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer Wisal Fakhar Sultan and Jhelum District Police Officer Mujahid Akbar Khan visited the place of occurrence and collected necessary information about it. OPC Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti has directed the police officers to investigate the case on war footing and ferret out facts that led to the death of Samia Shahid. He also urged the officials to ensure that the culprits do not get off scot-free.
