RAWALPINDI - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera appointed a police officer involved in a tainted car grabbing case at a key post instead of initiating departmental action against him for committing a crime. IG Punjab appointed Kashif Mushtaq Kanjoo, SSP/former DPO Chakwal, as AIG Complaints, Central Police Office (CPO), Lahore, who is involved in grabbing and using tainted Toyota Premio car that was used by a gang of dacoits for snatching another car from a villager at a gunpoint in Dohman Village of Chakwal in 2012.

In 2016, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja ordered a departmental inquiry into the scam that proved the then DPO Kashif Mushtaq Kanjoo and other police officers guilty.
