KARACHI: Sindh Assembly sets to elect new Chief Minister on Friday replacing ageing Qaim Ali Shah. 

The schedule to elect Sindh Chief Minister has been issued by Sindh Assembly .

The nomination papers for Chief Minister can be submitted today from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, while election will be held on Friday, 29th July.

Earlier, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan accepted the resignation of the outgoing chief minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

With the acceptance of the resignation of the chief minister, the provincial cabinet also stands dissolved.

Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Syed Murad Ali Shah said he will deliver his policy statement in Sindh Assembly session on Friday.

He said the issue of extension of powers for the Rangers has been resolved.

Replying to a question, he said the new cabinet will be formed after the consultation with the party leadership.
