Almost all institutions, be they for males or females, require internship of 8-10 weeks, as a part of their study programme. But this is the most disorganised activity, at this stage. Students try their personal contacts to get into organizations and manage somehow to get a certificate. Quite a lot of these students fail to get a placement. Educational institutions do not work professionally to get their students in internship. Private and public sector organizations have no programs to accommodate internees. Another irony of fate is that all students need internship in summer vacation-starting July to September. In short, there is a complete fiasco. Let me appeal to all educational institutions to organize this activity a bit more formally at their end. I also appeal to all commercial institutions to make room and absorb these students, under a proper plan and let internship be part of their production activity, besides doing business for profit.
