Maulana Sami ul Haq says no to Qadri's APC

ISLAMABAD- Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) head Maulana Sami ul Haq has refused to be part of an all-party conference (APC) convened by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Model Town massacre.
The PAT has invited different political and religious parties to its proposed APC scheduled to be held in Lahore on June 29.
JUI-S spokesman Maulana Asim Makhdoom said today that his party condemned the Model Town incident. "We will not take part in Qadri's APC as it has no clear agenda," he explained.
On the other hand, PPP Punjab head Manzoor Wattoo said that his party was yet to receive a formal invitation. "Our central leadership will make a decision to attend or not to attend the APC once we get the invitation," Watto said. Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) said that its local leadership would participate in the conference.
At least 12 people were killed and 90 others wounded when police opened straight fire on supporters of Awami Tehreek in Model Town last week.
