PESHAWAR - Renowned Pashto comedian Murad Ali alias Gul Bali passed away in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Friday morning. He was 60. He was suffering from hepatitis-C and other serious health complications.
His funeral was offered in Bhanamari where a large number of artist and others attended the prayers. He survived by a wife. He served the Pashto dramas for 38 years and worked in number of quality dramas with a variety of sarcastic characters which were more popular among the public.
Gul Bali gets recognition along with other Pashto actors like Ismail Shahid and Seed Rahman Sheeno. He was the vital part of stage event, comedy TV drama and Pashto tele-films and others comedy characters.
He was known by his characters in dramas instead of his real name some of them were Latoo, Gul Bali, Chamchamar, Toti and many others neck names. He was always performing such characters which were unique in style and liking by the people to a great extent.
Commenting on his career prominent comedian Ismail Shahid said that he was like our brother and a talented artist who finally left us after long illness, whose comedy dramas were incomplete without the presence of Gul Bali.
Another comedian Zardad Bulbul also paid homage to his services to Pashto comedy drama.
