MOSCOW - Russian companies plan to implement prospective projects in energy, metallurgy and other sectors in Pakistan , Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
“We pay great attention to developing cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan ,” Putin said during a diplomatic accreditation ceremony for foreign ambassadors to Russia , broadcast on Rossiya-24.
“Russian companies are ready to carry out prospective projects in energy, metallurgy industry and other sectors that were created with the help of specialists from Russia ,” Putin said. He asserted fighting terrorism and illegal drug trafficking was a very important task.
Earlier this month, the head of the Russian delegation at Eurosatory 2014 international defence and security exhibition, Igor Sevastyanov, said Russia plans to supply Pakistan with Mi-35 combat helicopters to fight drug trafficking.
The head of Russia’s Rostec Corporation, a high-tech industrial producer and exporter, Sergei Chemezov, earlier stated that supplies of military equipment to Pakistan , including Mi-35 helicopters, were to resume,.
