LAHORE - A 23-year-old patient ended his life by jumping off the Sheikh Zayed Hospital building early yesterday.
Police identified the man as Muhammad Usman, a resident of Charsadda.
Hospital officials said that Usman jumped from the second floor of the building after an argument with his family. He expired on the spot. Police later reached the spot and handed over the body to the family.
According to relatives, Usman committed suicide due to the rude attitude of doctors and paramedical staff. The youth took the extreme step after some doctors misbehaved with Usman’s family yesterday morning.
On the other hand, the hospital administration says the patient wanted to go back home but his family was insisting for treatment since he was recovering fast.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex Chairman and Dean Prof Farid Ahmed has constituted a three-member committee to probe the causes of suicide of a youth Muhammad Usman. The committee will submit its report within three days.

According to the spokesman, the patient was suffering from chronic liver disease, Budd Chiari Syndrome. He was hospitalised on June 22. Medical Board advised Cadaveric Liver Transplant and the government also provided grant for the operation. Patient was depressed and insisted on going home.
ACCIDENT: A young motorcyclist was killed when a mini-truck bumped into his two-wheeler near Garhi Shahu Bridge yesterday afternoon. Police were yet to ascertain the identity of the victim. The body was moved to the morgue.
The Misri Shah police also arrested the driver and impounded the truck. Further investigations were underway.
