LAHORE - The Servis Tyres Junior National Tennis Championship 2021 was formally inaugurated here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Sunday.
PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), who is also the tournament organizer, inaugurated the event at the colorful opening ceremony, which was also attended by players, their families and tennis lovers. PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik thanked Servis Industries CEO Arif Saeed for sponsoring this event and also his all-out support for the promotion of the game across the country. He hoped that he will continue his generous support for this beautiful game.
The matches were played in the different age categories and the top seeds advanced to the next round. In the boys U-18 first round, Shahzaib Zahid had to face little resistance from Zaeem Ghafoor before winning the encounter 6-3, 6-4. Huzaima Abdul Rahman was up against Muneeb Majeed and outpaced him 6-2, 6-0 while Baqir Ali outclassed Shahmir Dilshad 6-0, 6-0 and Hassan Ali outlasted Arman Kamran 6-2, 6-1.
In the boys U-16 first round, Zaeem Ghafoor played well against Raja Mustafa and defeated him 6-4, 6-2 while Shehryar Anees toppled Muneeb Majeed 6-0, 6-4, M Suhaan routed Aized Khalil 6-2, 6-4 and Arman Kamran beat Zain Saeed 6-2, 6-4. In the boys U-14 first round, Eesa Bilal defeated Aalay Hussain 5-3, 4-1 and Inam Bari outpaced Eesa Fahad 4-2, 4-2. In the boys/girls U-12 first round, Aalay Hussain beat Zohaib Eesa 5-3, 5-3, and Xeerak Mustafa thumped Eesa Bilal 4-1, 4-2.
