KU flood relief work lauded

KARACHI Karachi University (KU) has organised a distribution ceremony of Flood Relief Excellence Award in recognition of the services rendered by KU staff in the worst flood of the countrys history, affecting millions of people. Speaking on the occasion, KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui said that students, teachers and employees of the Karachi University had contributed a lot in the relief activities. He said that students were the asset of the country and they needed to come forward in the welfare activities. KU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Shahana Urooj Kazmi Karachi University (KU) Disaster Volunteer Corps (KUDMVC) consisting of teachers, students and non-teaching staff, headed by KU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Shahana Urooj Kazmi, has contributed Rs 9 million in the relief activities. However the said corps has also dispatched relief goods, foods and medicines worth of millions rupees for distribution among the flood victims.
