To effectively curb power theft, the Lesco has started a survey to compile updated data the consumers, especially industrial, commercial and large domestic consumers.

Hujra Shah Muqeem Lesco Executive Engineer (XEN) Sajjad Raheem said this while talking to a delegation of journalists here the other day. Lesco SDO (North) Malik Ijaz was also present on the occasion.

He said that anti-power pilferage campaign would be started to prevent huge losses to the national exchequer and for the purpose special teams would be also constituted to take action against the culprits.

“This is a serious crime and all elements involved must be dealt with an iron hand and proceeded in accordance with law. Criminal cases should be registered against them besides recovering detection bills,” he added. He said the campaign against power thieves should be accelerated to reduce extraordinary losses to the utility.

The delegation consisted of City Press Club President Dr Ziaul Hassan Tahir, Chairman Imran Zahid Khokar, Muhammad Hassan Chaudhry and Muhammad Rafeeq Sajid.
