Apparel Park in pipeline

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said that the provincial government is setting up a state-of-the-art Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park near motorway.
He expressed these views at a meeting in which a detailed briefing was given to him regarding the recent visit of a delegation of Punjab government to China. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that textile sector has a major share in Pakistan’s exports and after granting of GSP Plus status by European Union, full attention is being paid to textile sector in order to increase foreign exchange and generate job opportunities.
He said that the project of Apparel Park is of vital importance in the wake of granting of GSP Plus status to Pakistan. He said that prominent Chinese Company Shingdong Royai has made investment of billions of dollars in textile and energy sectors in Punjab and will also invest in the provision of infrastructure in Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park.
He said it is a good omen that Royai group will set up textile zone in Faisalabad Industrial Estate. He directed that the work of designing and development of Apparel Park be completed expeditiously while special attention is paid to horticulture in the Apparel Park.
