Ten influential landlords including Ch Muhammad Hayat of Chiniot armed with guns raided the house of Muhammad Nawaz situated in Zakhira Beranwala Chak No 2 (Pindi Bhattian) and allegedly kidnapped his young daughter and a minor child, as he (Nawaz) had refused to marry off her daughter with accused’s son Safdar Ali.

The accused also tortured three women and opened indiscriminate firing to intimidate the occupants of the house.

The injured, Amin Bibi, Sumaira and Maqsoob Bibi were rushed to the DHQ Hospital by the police and registered a case against the accused. The police failed to arrest any of the accused so far.

According to police source, Ch Muhammad Hayat, a resident of Qila Aasian, Chiniot wanted the hand of Sa’adia, daughter of Muhammad Nawaz in marriage for his son but he refused. He instead engaged her with a young man of his choice in Mailoana village and fixed the marriage for Friday (today).

On getting information about the marriage of Sa’adia, ten accused including Ch Muhammad Hayat and his son Safdar Ali armed with sophisticated firearms raided the house of Nawaz and started thrashing Sa’adia’s mother Amin Bibi, sister Sumaira and another Maqsood Bibi. They abducted Sa’adia and a minor boy Bilal and fled away in vehicles by resorting to aerial firing.

Meanwhile, influential Chaudaries of Rahgo Syedan allegedly kidnapped a young worker of the same village as a sequel to monetary dispute.

The police have registered a case against Shan Gul and three others and started investigation.

According to FIR, abductee Zulqarnain’s brother Shahid Imran had borrowed Rs8,000 from Shan Gul and despite repeated demands Imran failed to repay the loan. Thereupon, Shan Gul and three others armed with guns allegedly raided the house of Shahid Imran and abducted his brother Zulqarnain at gunpoint.
