At least 18 persons including two women and three minor were killed different incidents of enmity, honour killing and other mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to details, in Jhang, a six-year-old girl and a young man died after consuming poisonous food in Ward No-8 Bhuwana.

As reports, the family of Muhammad Iqbal including his six-year-old daughter Tayyaba, son eight-year-old Hamza, another son 10-year-old Ali and 20-year-old servant Tanveer took meal last night. Soon after consuming the food they fell sick and were rushed to a private clinic where Tayyaba and Tanveer breathed their last while the other were referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in critical condition. 

In another incident, a young man was killed for honour. According to reports, three brother including Riaz, Bashir and Iftikhar, resident of Basti Islam, Shorkot suspected Qaiser Abbas, a resident of same area of having developed illicit relations with their sister. To quench their avenge, they called Qaiser Abbas to their home and axed him to death. On the application of the deceased’s father Muhammad Warryam, the Shorkot City Police have registered a case against three accused.

Similarly, two children were killed in a mishap occurred on Jhang-Bhakkar Road near Waso Astana. Reportedly, Chaudhry Nasir along with his wife, eight-year-old son Tayyab Haider and four-year-old daughter Dua Fatima, resident of Waso Astana were going on a bike when suddenly the bike collided with an iron-laden tractor-trolley. Resultantly, eight-year-old Tayyab Haider and Dua Fatima died on the spot while Ch Nasir and his wife sustained critical injuries and were admitted to DHQ Hospital. The Atharan Hazari Police have arrested Muhammad Sadiq, driver of the tractor-trolley.

In yet another road mishap which occurred on Jhang-Faisalabad Road a 15-year-old youth was killed. As per details, 15-year-old Attaullah, a resident of Chak Khokhran was going on his bike on Jhang-Faisalabad Road. As he reached near bypass, a speeding car (LEE-2865) hit him. Resultantly, he received critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Similarly, a car rider was killed in an accident on Jhang-Faisalabad Road. Kazim Hussain and his son Ali were going to Faisalabad in a car when near to Adda Madhani Jutt the car overturned due to speeding. Resultantly, Kazim died on the spot while his son sustained injuries.

In another incident a newly-wed girl was gunned down on resistance. As per details, unidentified dacoits stormed into the house of Muhammad Akram, a resident of Garh Mahraja and started collecting valuables. In the meantime Nadia Bibi, wife of Akram offered resistance at which the dacoits shot at and killed her on the spot. The dacoits made off with Rs270,000 and four tolas of gold ornaments. The Garh Mahraja Police have registered a case against unidentified culprits.

While on Jhang-Chiniot Road, a dumper truck crushed to death a woman. As per details, Asif, his mother and his sister, resident of Mauza Daulatpur were going to Chiniot on a bike when suddenly a speeding dumper truck, coming from the opposite direction hit the bike. As a result Asif and his mother sustained serious injuries while his sister breathed her last on the spot. Rescue 1122 the injured to hospital.

In Toba Tek Singh, five persons belonged to a Sahiwal village died and 13 other injured when a bus overturned near Kamalia Bypass Road on Thursday.

The bus, carrying devotees, was on the way back from Darbar Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar Dera Ghazi Khan when the accident took place. The deceased were identified as Younis, Aqib, Nawaz Khokhar, Nazim Bhatti and Allah Yar. The injured included Nawaz, Umer, Manzoor, Ahmad Ali, Shahzaib, Munir, Bilqees Bibi, Shamas, Ghafoor, Ali Gohar, Sarwar, Imran and Sher. The injured were admitted to Kamalia THQ Hospital from where three critically wounded including Nawaz, Ali and Shahzaib were shifted to Toba DHQ Hospital.

Meanwhile in Sheikhupura, a woman was shot dead in Rana Town locality by her husband over petty dispute on Thursday. Asif on return from duty in a local factory got angry when his wife did not prepared the meal. At which he shot his wife dead. The Ferozewala Police have started investigation with no arrest so far.

In another incident, an unidentified 25-year-old man was gunned down by unidentified assailants in village Faizpur Kalan on Thursday. The killers after throwing his body in a field escaped. The Sharqpur Police have started investigation.

Whereas an 80-year-old man was killed his two sons over property issue in Dhaban Kalan. As per reports, Muhammad Hussain after developing difference with his two sons - Suleman and Zeeshan had started living with his younger son. The elderly man wanted to transfer his whole property in the name of his younger son Zaman. Over the issue, after exchanging hot words, his two sons shot their father dead. The Safdarabad Police have started investigation.

Meanwhile, one man was gunned down over monetary dispute in Narang Mandi. As per reports, two cousins Altaf and Idrees were business partner. However, over some monitory dispute Altaf shot his Idrees dead. The Narang Police are looking into the matter.
