KPBOIT plans largest ski resort revival in 2 years

LAHORE  - The KP Board of Investment & Trade, with a view to flourish the investment climate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to make it a lucrative and friendly destination for tourists, has invited the Expression of Interest (EoI) from the private sector for revival of Malam Jabba Resort, which was damaged in 2004 by the terrorists.
KPBOIT Vice Chairman Mohsin Aziz said that the work for the revival of the Pakistan’s largest ski resort, featuring a five-star as well as a three-star hotel, chair lift, specific areas for outdoor activities, paragliding clubs and zip liners etc, will be started during this summer and to be completed within two years. Mohsin Aziz stated that the project envisages restoration and revival of the resort both for beginners and professionals skiers.  “The Ski Federation of Pakistan has also shown keen interest to help us in the revival of the ski facility in this area. A helicopter shuttle service for the guests is also a part of this scheme. The hotels’ project can be operated throughout the year as tourist from all over the country visit Swat Valley in summer as well as in winter to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.” He said that the government will improve road conditions by widening it and providing machinery to remove ice from the roads. In the leading role of BOIT, investors would be facilitated through provision of all kinds of NoCs to expedite the work on this resort, which is considered one of the top 10 most adventurous ski resorts in the world. Mohsin Aziz said that to fulfill the commitment of the KP government under the leadership of its CM, the BOIT is providing one window operation facility to investors by proactively engaging with all stakeholders to ensure successful investments. The KPBOIT office and staff would be available to provide hassle-free and fast track facilitation to the investors, he added.
“In working towards our goal we would be working to facilitate the investors by providing them with almost all the pre-project requirements and formalities, including land procurement, pre-feasibility, insurance, banking, legal help etc thereby providing the investors with one window operation.
