LAHORE - The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Punjab Labor and Human Resource Department to expedite economic activities in general and execute SAARC International Exhibition in particular.
The LCCI President inked the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry while Punjab Labor and Human Resource Department was represented by the Provincial Secretary Captain ® Muhammad Yousaf. LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah, former Senior Vice Presidents Malik Tahir Javed, Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, EC member Mian Muhammad Afzal, Additional Secretary Labour Nasir Jamil Khan and Director General Labour Tariq Aiwan were also present in the MoU signing ceremony.
As per MoU, both the sides would work hand-in-hand for the promotion of trade and economic activities besides sharing economy related data with each other.
It was also agreed that both the organsations would extend maximum support for the successful execution of exhibitions particularly upcoming SAARC International Exhibition scheduled for April 25 to April 27, 2014. Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the MoU would go a long way in developing much need synergy among all the stakeholders.
 He said that all economic targets would remain unmet unless and until public and private institutions join hands and pool their efforts.
He said that the LCCI was taking all possible measures to supplement government efforts aimed at revival of the economy. He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry was working on a new methodology by the name of Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) and a working paper to this regard would soon be presented to the Chief Minister Punjab.
Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the PPD theme is to expedite and promote the process of consultation in the formation of trade and economic policies to ensure their letter and spirit implementation.
