District Coordination Officer Iftikhar Ali Sahu directed the TMA officials concerned to establish a recreational park for public in and around the centuries-old historical temple “Shawala Teja Singh” after purging the historical building of the growing encroachments.
The DCO issued the directions while during a visit to the dilapidating building of “Shawala Teja Singh” located in Imam Sahib locality here the other day. He said that various parts of the building would also be restored to their original shape and design.
He said that the TMA would launch a cleanliness campaign to remove all the trash heaps and convert the court yard into a family recreational park soon, besides, launching tree plantation campaign. He said that a ironed gates would be installed at the entrances of Shawala Teja Singh soon besides, deputing security guards there by the Auqaf Department.
Anti-TB awareness walk held:  The Tehsil Anti-TB Association organised an anti-TB awareness raising walk in the city here.
A large number of people including traders, doctors, journalists, educationists and schoolchildren participated in the anti-TB awareness walk.
The walk started from Civil Rest House Chowk and ended at Milad Chowk after passing through all the main intercity roads. The participants were carrying banners and placards and pledged to make all out sincere efforts for promoting anti-TB awareness in society.
