KARACHI :  The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $9,143.8 million on Mar 21, 2014, a press release issued by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said here on Thursday. The break-up of the foreign reserves position showed that foreign reserves held by the SBP were $4,426.4 million and net foreign reserves held by banks remained $4,717.4 million.  During the week ending Mar. 21, SBP’s liquid FX reserves decreased by $382 million to $4,426 million compared to $4,808 million in the previous week.

The decrease in the central bank reserves is due to external debt servicing of $248 million, inclusive of $57 million repayment to IMF, and other official flows, it added.
