MITHI - A drought and famine-like situation in Tharparkar continued to haunt denizens of the district as two more women breathed their last, raising the death toll to 212 on Thursday.
The deceased women were admitted to a hospital in Mithi. Earlier, on Wednesday five children died of gastro.
Sindh Health Secretary Iqbal Hassan Durrani told media persons that 99 doctors had been suspended over dereliction of duty. Addressing the Sindh Assembly session on Tuesday, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had said his party had won the seats in Tharparkar due to public service.  He said Thar was highly important district for Pakistan, adding lack of rainfall developed a drought-like situation in the district.
