Two dacoits were killed by their accomplices in different areas here the other day.

A dacoit was shot dead by his accomplices during a dacoity in Umarabad area situated in the limits of Pattoki Saddr. As per reports, some eight dacoits entered the house of one Seith Abdul Aziz. They collected 15 tolas of gold and other valuables and started aerial firing in a bid to escape from the scene. In the meanwhile, a bullet hit one of the dacoits whom they tried to take with them but he breathed his last. They left the dead body and made off the valuables. The deceased dacoit was later identified as Zulfiqar alias Jabbar, a resident of district Okara.

On the other hand, a man gunned down his sister in village Jodh Singh Wala of Khuddian Khas Police over a matrimonial issue.

As per details, Ahmad Din told the police that his son Shabbir wanted to marry off his sister 24-year-old Azra, to his friend Sabir but she was not willing. Infuriated at her denial, he along with Sabir came to his house and shot Azra dead. The police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, in Ahmedpur East, a notorious proclaimed offender identified as Akmal Kathia was shot dead by his own accomplices in suburban village Mauza Mehrabwala.

According to details accused Akmal Kathia was a resident of Bahawalnagar and wanted in more than three dozen cases of dacoity and robbery. He reportedly along with his other accomplices intercepted one citizen Ghulam Yaseen near Mehrabwala and snatched Rs50,000 and motorcycle from him. However, when he put up resistance, the dacoits opened indiscriminate firing. Resultantly a bullet pierced through Akmal Kathia, killing him on the spot while Ghulam Yaeen also received bullet injuries. The police have taken the dead body into custody and started the search for the family of Akmal Kathia.
