Lahore- A local court ruled in favor of Bahria Foundation and ordered business tycoon Malik Riaz to pay Rs 388.13 million as compensation after Riaz lost a legal battle over the right to the name ‘Bahria’ for his housing society.
The Bahria Foundation had filed a suit against Malik Riaz demanding Rs 688.83 million as compensation.
The court in Rawalpindi then restrained Malik Riaz Hussain from using the name ‘Bahria’ for his housing society. The petition was originally filed in 2002.
After the judgment, Riaz’s legal adviser Qaiser Qadeer said, “We will appeal this order at the next appellate forum accordingly.”
