RAW agent ‘tasked’ to expand terror network to Punjab

LAHORE - The RAW high command had given the task to its ‘chief spy’ Kulbushan Yadav for expanding his network to Punjab through its southern parts via Balochistan and Sindh borders to launch an aggressive subversion in the relatively calm province, security agencies sources told The Nation yesterday.
Yadav the ‘Blue Bird’ of the ISI was caught by the agency in an extensive ‘trap and catch operation’ from Balochistan sometime back. In his fresh disclosures, he told the interrogators that he had been tasked by New Delhi to expand his network up to Punjab to strike hard the power base of the country’s ruling elite for demoralising their will to resist against Indian expansionist designs in the region. The strong and large armies cannot protect the state when you succeed in shaking the “will” of a nation and its institutions against the aggressor.
The “chief handler” of the RAW for Balochistan and Karachi Yadav had installed a network of dozens of local handlers in Balochistan and 100 plus sleeper units in Karachi to launch series of terror attacks, said the security agencies sources.
Without revealing the details of the ‘blown’ sleeper units following the disclosures of RAW spy for operational secrecy, they said the Karachi Water Board sleeper cells’ network was being funded by Yadav ring with training support.
Running his network from Balochistan and Karachi he made contacts with members of the banned outfits and criminal gangs operating on Punjab borders with Balochistan and Sindh. However it would be determined in further interrogations that how many subversive activities his network had planned in Punjab, they added.
Some suspected notorious members of his network captured in joint anti-terror operations of military and civilian agencies in Karachi include Nadeem alias Uncle, Khalid Aman alias Dad, Abdul Jabbar alias Zafar Tension; Muhammad Mohsin Khan alias Kashif alias Zeeshan alias Hassan and Muhammad Shafiq Khan alias Pappu.
Indian external intelligence service RAW organised the housing and lodging of its Pakistani agents from Karachi in South Africa, Malaysia, Bangkok with some exceptions in Dubai when they completed their missions and to be pulled back to avert capture.
The agents were trained in Basant Pur, Dehra Dhun, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Farid Pur, Kolkatta and some other areas of Indian territory. They were imparted training of small arms like sub-machine guns (SMGs), RPG rockets, hand grenades, reconnaissance duties and handling some technical gadgets of short-range spying of security agencies monitoring other targets. An officer of the rank of major from RAW’s office of special operations supervises the training sessions, according to the startling revelations of Yadav.
On the Balochistan front, he was handling the training of Baloch rebels in the coastal areas of India to launch amphibious raids on Gwadar and Karachi ports with logistics and weapons support, besides cash funds. However the fighters who were to be used in Balochistan getting training in no-go areas of Kandhar province of Afghanistan with the blessing of untouchable security chief Commander Abdul Raziq Achakzai.
Yadav was using the members of the banned outfits designated as terrorist organizations by the Pakistan government including outlawed TTP groups and Baloch organizations with mercenaries of certain political groups in Karachi to destabilise its neighbour.
He told his interrogators that he had very “specific” instructions from his top bosses which said, “Keep Balochistan and Karachi burning. Reach to Punjab to coordinate aggressive subversion in the largest province. Paralyze the CPEC and the seaports of Pakistan.”
The Indian Foreign Ministry confirmed the arrested man was member of its naval corps but he was retired, a deception Pakistani secret services were not ready to accept following his shocking disclosures.
