Ashfaq group attacks, takes over PFF House: NC Chairman

LAHORE-Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee (NC) Chairman Haroon Malik has revealed that the PFF office was attacked on Saturday by Ashfaq Hussain Shah and his group. According to official statement issued here, the PFF NC head said: “Pakistan Football Federation office was attacked in Lahore by Ashfaq Shah and his group. Sardar Naveed Haider Khan was also present with the attackers. PFF staff physically harassed and were held hostage. The group has taken over the PFF house.” It is worth mentioning here that the NC has been asked to hold fair and transparent PFF elections till 30th June 2021.  Meanwhile, Ashfaq Hussain, sharing his point of view, said that he has taken this step after a decision taken in the PFF Congress held on Friday. “We have our mandate till 2022 but when the FIFA took us into confidence and asked us to let the PFF Normalisation Committee work in order to hold the PFF elections under the NC, we respected their decision and handed over the charge to the NC.  “The main purpose and real mandate of the NC was to hold fair PFF elections, but despite a gap of more one-year time, the committee has failed to do its work in the right direction, instead they remained engaged in organising football activities, which isn’t their main task. When the NC totally failed in holding PFF elections, which was their actual task assigned to them by FIFA, we have taken this step. We have also informed the FIFA about this step through an email,” he added.
