LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Qamar Ijaz on Tuesday cancelled post arrest bail of Muhammad Zubair, accused of raping 7 years old orphan girl, Tayyeba. On March 11, allegedly Zubair raped Tayyeba with abetment of Talha, Muzamil and Muzafar in Sidhanwali village of Ferozewala and escaped from spot after leaving her in critical condition. Former IG police Azhar Hasan Nadeem had suspended DSP Khadim Hussan and SHO Sayed Riaz Shah of Narang Mandi police station for defending the main accused Zubair and not nominating him in the FIR. An FIR against the DSP and the SHO was also registered under Section 201 of Pakistan Penal Code and Section 155 of the Police Order 2002 on March 16. The judge after hearing arguments of the both parties, cancelled the bail ruling that the crime was of heinous nature therefore the accused could not be given concession of bail. While taking up the main case, the judge recorded statement of Nusrat Bibi, mother of the victim, who submitted that Zubair raped her minor daughter with help of his brothers, Talha and Muzafar, and Muzamil, whom the police had declared as innocent during investigation and released them. The judge adjourned the hearing till June 03 to record the statement of the victim. Chairman Free Legal Aid and Settlement Anis AA Saadi advocate, Mian M Bashir Saif, Muhammad Irfan, Razaq Ibrahim and Imran Ali voluntarily appeared before the court as usual to defend the case of victim girl. Advocate Mahboob Ahmed Khan and Nadeem Anthony of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan also attended the court proceedings. It is pertinent to mention here that after receiving life threats from the accused family, Nusrat had left her house and shifted to some unidentified place. She said that Jamshed Iqbal and Muhammad Mansha, who were witnesses of the case had also colluded with the accused family and had withdrawn their statements made in favour of victim. They also appeared before the court on Tuesday and supported the case of the accused.
