ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has sent a proposal to the government for increasing Haj flight fare by Rs 40,000 per head, in view of the spiralling oil prices. According to a private TV channel, quoting PIA sources, the international oil price has surged to 130 dollars per barrel which stood at 50 dollars per barrel in the previous year. Therefore, the government has been asked to raise the Hajj flights fare accordingly. After the increase the fare is likely to climb to Rs 85,000-90,000 per head. Meanwhile, Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs, Wakil Ahmed told the channel that the accommodation rates in Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrims have also surged by 700 Riyal to 3200 Riyal which was 2,500 Riyal until last year.
