ISLAMABAD-A daylong meeting of Chairpersons of Physics departments of national universities across the country is being held tomorrow (Thursday) under the auspices of National Centre for Physics (NCP), Quaid-I-Azam University. The main aims to hold this meeting is to devise future strategies to promote research environment in field of Physics in Pakistan with the help of NCP and to define the areas of physics to be focused at present as in Pakistan there is tremendous paucity of energetic scientists. The regional resource persons for collaboration with NCP will be nominated in the meeting. During the meeting associate ship programme will also be discussed. Annual calendar of scientific activities will be also finalised with the consensus of participants. Around 22 universities are expected to participate through their representatives including University of Balochistan, University of Karachi, COMSATS, University of Punjab, University of Peshawar, GIKI (Topi), UET, Lahore, GC University, Lahore, and AJK University etc.   The event will be helpful in making the policies to improve the teaching and educational skills as well as the understanding of Physics among college and university teachers to motivate younger scientists.
