RPO sacks 2 sub-inspectors on charges of faulty enquiry

RAWALPINDI - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani dismissed SI Muhammad Aslam and SI Muhammad Akram from service on the charges of faulty investigation in abduction and murder cases and also harboring the accused for ulterior motive. According to details, one Tahir Mehmood complained that his father Abdul Majeed had been abducted by Akmal Zia, Zahid and others while SI Muhammad Akram, the investigating officer of the case is not taking interest in the recovery of kidnapped person and arrest of the accused. Upon this, Regional Police Officer detailed DSP Saddar Rawalpindi to enquire into the allegations and submit report on actual facts. After necessary enquiry, the DSP reported that SI Muhammad Akram carried out faulty investigation and harboring the accused for ulterior motives. In the light of findings of DSP Saddar, Nasir Khan Durrani dismissed SI Muhammad Akram from service with immediate effect. In the second case, the complainant party of case FIR No 98 dated October 12, 2008 registered u/s 302/324 of PPC with Police Station Saddar Baroooni appeared before the RPO and complained that Akmal Zia and Zahid allegedly involved in the above mentioned abduction case murdered Haji Ghulam Farid, brother of Abdul Majeed abductee and Amar Javed. They also alleged that SI Muhammad Aslam, the investigating officer is not taking interest in the arrest of accused for ulterior motive. Upon which, Nasir Khan Durrani directed DSP Saddar to enquire into the allegations and report actual facts. After enquiry, the DSP Sadar submitted that SI Muhammad Aslam carried out faulty investigation, mixed up with the accused and harboring them for ulterior motives. In the light of findings of DSP Saddar, Regional Police Officer dismissed SI Muhammad Aslam from service with immediate effect. Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Rao Mohammad Iqbal ordered to register criminal cases against eight police officials in different police stations of Rawalpindi. According to details, one Khan Baig son of Haider Khan resident of Mahuta PS Chuntra submitted a written application to additional session judge Rawalpindi stating that Asmat Ullah Sub Inspector, Shahid Mehmood Assistant Sub Inspector and five police constable of Police station Chuntra had tortured him during a police raid at his hotel in Chuntra. Later, Court sent the matter to CPO Rawalpindi along with a direction to register a criminal case. In another incident, Muhammad Ahsan Jhangir, resident of Karal Road Sadiqabad submitted a written application and alleged that he was unintentionally intoxicated, illegally confined and attempted for an unnatural adultery by Head Constable Noshervan. The complaint was also threatened for life by the Police Head Constable Nosherwan of Police Station Sadiqabad. On this, CPO Rawalpindi ordered for registration of two criminal cases against eight police officials at Police Station Chuntra and Sadiqabad. CPO said that police officials have to mend their ways and adopt the SOP as prescribed by the law and no negligence or dishonesty would be accepted.
