ANP activist was gunned down while his friend injured in Machhar Colony within the limits of Docks police station. The incident took place at Baba Ahmed Road, Machhar Colony, where ANP UC-II Ward President Imran Niazi, 24, son of Ghulam Yaseen, was going home with his friend Ashraf Niazi after attending the marriage ceremony of his friend, Iqbal, when unidentified armed men opened fire on them, resultantly Imran died on the spot, while Ashraf sustained injuries, according to ANP Sindh spokesman Qadir Khan. After committing the crime, culprits managed to flee from the scene. The body and injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi where scores of ANP workers reached. Police officials said the victim was the resident of Niazi Chowk, Lyari and used to run a transport business. They said he was the ANP UC-II ward president and few days ago, unidentified men had also attacked him but at that time he remained safe. ANP Sindh spokesman Qadir Khan condemned the killing of Imran and said it was not good sign for peace. He demanded of the governmet to arrest the culprits involved in the killing of ANP worker. Police said that the condition of the injured was out of danger. Police have registered an FIR (115/11) against unidentified men on the complaint of Ashraf and initiated a probe into the case.
