KARACHI - Three people died in separate incidents of violence and mishaps here in the metropolitan city on Friday. According to details, an activist of Awami National party was gunned down while another got injured in Macchar Colony within the limits of Docks Police Station. The incident took place at Baba Ahmed Road where UC-II ANP Ward President Lyari Town 24-year-old Imran Niazi son of Ghulam Yaseen was going home with his friend Ashraf Niazi after attending the marriage ceremony of his friend Iqbal. When they reached near Nullah Stop, unidentified armed men reached and opened firing on them; resultantly Imran died on the spot while Ashraf sustained injuries. After committing the crime culprits managed to flee easily. The body and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities and treatment, where scores of ANP workers reached. Police officials said victim was the resident of Niazi Chowk Lyari and he used to run transport business. Police registered FIR No 115/11 against unidentified men on the complaint of Ashraf and initiated probe into the case. Separately, an elderly woman died after falling from a building near Mukka Chowk in the limits of Jauharabad Police Station. The victim 80-year-old Akbari Khatoon wife of Anwar was the resident of Prince Arcade situated at Mukka Chowk. Suddenly she fell from the fifth floor and died. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, a teenage boy was crushed to death near old Subzi Mandi in the remits of PIB Police Station. The victim later identified as 19-year-old Osama son of Shahid was resident of Saadi Goth, Safora Goth, while he was crossing the road when a speeding vehicle knocked him, resultantly he died on the spot.
